There is nothing quite like New York City in the Springtime! Let’s be honest experiencing any season in the big apple is a must! We were honoured to have the opportunity to photograph Nancy and Peter’s downtown New York City wedding this Spring. NYC provides such a diverse range of scenery and surroundings it was hard to choose just one location for their photos. From the character and charm of the cobblestone streets to the wooden boardwalk along the water this was truly a downtown city wedding.
Nancy and Peter met online through their common love of running. Their plan for their first date included a run through the city but then turned into hanging out for the entire day in their activewear. They have been running together ever since and are actually doing their first marathon this year in the city. Peter proposed in the same spot they had first met and was unfortunately really sick that whole week leading up to the proposal. Of course part of his plan included going for a run which Nancy was hesitant to do given they were both fighting colds but went along with it anyway, needless to say she was completed shocked when during their run, Peter got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She of course said yes and they started planning their special day in New York. We made sure to include all the spots in the city that have meaning to them. With the ceremony and reception taking place in a beautiful industrial space in Brooklyn, Nancy and Peter wanted to make sure some of their images were captured in Manhattan where they met for the first time.
This was truly a wedding to remember with their guests celebrating until the wee hours of the morning. We are so happy we got to capture these memories for them, we hope you enjoy them!
