“Take a lover who looks at you like maybe you are magic” ~ Frida Kahlo
On the 10th May, my sister got married to the love of her life, and let me tell you, this wedding was something special. I know what you’re thinking..of course I would have to say that – she’s my sister. But on this occasion my opinion has no bias. It had nothing to do with the absolutely gorgeous venue, Stones of the Yarra Valley, or the truly amazing autumnal floral arrangements by the very talented Rita from Blooming Brides. Although I can say that this combination led to one of the most visually stunning weddings I’ve laid my eyes on! The reason why this wedding was so special was simple; love. The very reason why I love what I do. And to prove that I’m not just being bias, you could verify it with the 150 odd guests there who would agree that this wedding was a magical love fest from beginning to end. By the end of the evening, I don’t think there was a single dry eye in the house. The already stunning Stones of the Yarra Valley was glowing with such intense love – emanating not just from the couple themselves but also from their families and friends that make up their World. Steve comes from a down to earth, extremely loving family. Pearly comes from a down to earth, extremely loving family. Together there is enough love to last to infinity and beyond, then back again. Pearly and Steve have so much love, admiration and respect from their peers as individuals and as a couple, and it’s a testament to the beautiful people that they are, inside and out. It’s only fitting that their wedding was so spectacular.
My heart overflows with happiness that they have found each other.
Pearly, I know that I’m your big sister but I look up to you like you are my big sister. You know me better than I know myself. You are a constant support in my life. You give the best advice. You have a good head on your shoulders and a heart of gold. You are so selfless; always thinking of others, always putting others before yourself. You have this ability to keep a clear head and take everything in your stride – your ability to remain so calm during the whole hectic wedding day and the days leading up to it is just one example of this. I am so proud of who you are and to call you my sister and my best friend.
Steve, thank you for loving my sister the way you do. Thank you for being a constant support not just to my sister but my entire family. I am happy because I know that with you, Pearly will always be in good hands. You are a legend.
*Deep breath* So, here are just a few sneaky peeks..
Since I didn’t get to do a speech at the wedding, I wanted to dedicate this post to Pearly and Steve. But there will also be a proper blog post to come with more details of the wedding. Pearly and Steve had such a clear vision of what they wanted and there were so many little details to the day that made it so very special.
Argh… I’m crying again!! Thank you, Anneli, how amazing is my sister?!?
