Growing up in Australia as a kid, I loved to draw and paint. In high school I developed a love for art. In particular I loved taking black and white film photos and spending any allowable time in the school darkroom, watching the magic that happens when an image develops from a negative. Due to ‘authoritative guidance’ as to what an ‘acceptable’ career is, fast forward 10 years down the line and I have an established career in I.T. At first I enjoyed it – I thrived on the challenge and demand of a consulting life. But sitting in an uncreative job for so long, I started to get restless.
Four and a half years ago I moved to London, bought my first SLR and documented my travels. It brought back a passion that was lying dormant for years. What I enjoy most now is capturing emotion. And there is no event in someone’s life that encapsulates emotion like a wedding!
For the longest time I have dreamt of having a job where I could do something that I love. Wouldn’t it be amazing to wake up everyday knowing that your day is filled with things that you WANT to do!
Whilst I’m not new to photography, I feel like it’s only recently that I’ve taken the vital steps towards ‘the dream’. It has taken a long time to even get to this point, and this is only the beginning! Oh the excitement…..
Here you can follow me on my journey with my passion for photography.
Enjoy! And don’t forget to DREAM BIG! xx
