This is a shoot that the lovely Katie Julia organised and asked me to come along for at the beautiful Thyme Barn in the Cotwolds featuring this gorgeous blue dress.
Ever wondered why brides (in western cultures) wear white on their wedding day? Well apparently, you can blame Queen Victoria for the white wedding dress. She wore plain white to marry Prince Albert in 1840, and sparked a trend that’s lasted to this day — but, surprisingly, she didn’t wear it to symbolize purity or virginity. She just wore it because, well, she liked white. I love the blue dress by Belle and Bunty and often wonder if I’d be brave enough to wear colour on my wedding day. The shoot was perfectly styled by Jessie Thomson and hair and make up done by the talented Heidi Sykes.
